About the role, Your Impact

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Government Funding Specialist to research, pursue, and administer the use of EPA (including State Revolving Loan funds), USDA, DCEO, CDBG, WIFIA, and other funds for planning, design, and construction of water, wastewater, stormwater, transportation, and energy efficiency projects in Illinois, Wisconsin, Florida, and Texas. Finding and implementing funding solutions is one of the most critical services we can provide our clients.

What your day-to-day will look like

  • Prepare funding assistance proposals as requested.
  • Prepare preliminary design reports, funding nomination forms, project plans, and funding applications per the requirements of the applicable funding programs.
  • Coordinate with engineering to obtain information to complete preliminary design reports, funding nomination forms, project plans, and funding applications.
  • Advise project team on application process and schedules.
  • Review plans and specs and provide advice when necessary to ensure compliance with loan requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of available funding opportunities.
  • Assist with tracking B&W’s applications throughout the application and award process.

Education/Certification Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Communications, Marketing or a related program preferred.

Must-haves, what you will bring

  • 4+ years of experience with loan and grant programs
  • Ability to independently handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
  • Grant writing certification is a plus.
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign is a plus.

Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is $30.00-$40.00. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
