POSITION: Construction Inspector

HOURLY RATE: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour depending on experience.

POSITION LOCATION: Crystal Lake or Chicago, IL

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Construction Inspector/Technician in our Crystal Lake or Chicago, IL, office. The Technician will support the firm’s construction group on a variety of projects ranging from roadways to underground utility installations. Additionally, this position will support the firm’s water department by assisting with the planning, design, and construction of a variety of facilities. This position will also offer the opportunity to work directly with firm clients.

POSITION DUTIES:

• Quantity Computation.
• Construction Layout/Survey.
• Observe, measure and document construction activities.
• Produce and edit engineering plans using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Prepare CAD plan sheet drawings.
• Assist project engineers and managers with a wide variety of tasks required during project delivery.
• General civil engineering and client service.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate's degree in Structural/Architecture and/or Construction Management Technology desired or related field experience.
• Effective communication, both oral and written, with residents, businesses and public agencies.
• Ability to travel throughout the northern Chicagoland area (own transportation).
• Work in a team environment.
• Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
