SALARY RANGE: $120,000 - $145,000 (Based on Qualifications and Experience)

POSTION LOCATION: Peoria, IL

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Civil Engineer in our Municipal Services Department. We are seeking qualified applicants for our Peoria, IL office.

POSITION DUTIES:

  • Make frequent client contact to the clients within Peoria and surrounding counties, respond directly to client requests when appropriate, and forward requests to responsible managers as needed.
  • Manage large and complex projects involving special skills and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and participate actively in business development.
  • Oversee the work of others and assign work to less experienced engineers.
  • Prepare engineering project proposals in coordination with the Department Managers, the Water/Wastewater Business Development Manager, and the Marketing Department.
  • Possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles of engineering as well as advanced engineering expertise to solve complex problems.
  • Work with Department Managers to develop department standards and complete peer reviews.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Illinois Professional Engineer License required.
  • 12 or more years of experience in the design and project management of municipal and general civil projects.
  • Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman service area (own transportation).
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, computer and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
