About the role, Your Impact

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Ecological Stewardship Crew member in our Natural Resources department. Our Natural Resources Department has a family atmosphere with an advance from within attitude. Most of our projects are within an hour from our office. We are seeking qualified applicants for our Marengo, IL Office.

What your day-to-day will look like

  • Complete all aspects of restoration work which includes planting, seeding, erosion control methods, brush cutting, and herbicide application within stream, prairie, woodland restoration areas.
  • Help assist with construction projects like stream restoration and detention basin retrofits.
  • Complete work for municipalities, subdivisions, and private clients.

Education/Certification Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resources or related field preferred.
  • Must be able to acquire herbicide license within 30 days of start date.

Must-haves, what you will bring

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a Valid Driver’s License.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience required.
  • Complete all aspects of restoration work leading a small crew under minimal supervision.
  • Must be willing to work outside.
  • Ability to lift 35-50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Knowledge of native ecosystems required.
  • Work within a team-first culture that encourages individual development and accomplishment of goals.

Compensation The hourly pay for this role is $26.00 - $31.00. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
